Kit contents: clutch stop with stainless adjustment bolt and 3M tape, alcohol prep pad, and clutch start bypass wire
STEP 1

What's in the box

  • Renetic clutch stop, with stainless steel adjustment bolt, jam nut and 3M tape
  • Isopropyl alcohol prep pad
  • Clutch start bypass wire

STEP 2

Clean the cavity

Wipe the inside of the cavity on the back of the clutch pedal (arrow) with the alcohol pad, and let it dry.

This is all done in the car. The pedal stays in place; it's shown removed here only so the area is easy to see.

STEP 3

Install the bypass wire

With the ignition off, unplug the two factory spade-connector wires from the clutch start safety switch. Then bridge them together with the included bypass wire.

From now on the car can start without the clutch pressed. Always start it in neutral with the parking brake set.

STEP 4

Test-fit first

Before removing the red 3M backing, get a feel for how the clutch stop fits.

Seat it fully at the top of the cavity, then pull it toward you (toward the back of the car) so it settles into place.

STEP 5

Stick it in place

Peel off the red 3M backing and repeat the same motion: seat it fully at the top, then pull toward you.

Press firmly so the tape bonds well.

STEP 6

Adjust the bolt

Start with the bolt at its shortest setting and adjust outward from there until the pedal feels right. Lock it with the jam nut.

If pedal travel is still too short at the shortest setting, remove the jam nut and thread the bolt all the way in. If it's still too short, remove the bolt completely and run the clutch stop on its own.

After any adjustment, make sure the clutch still fully disengages: every gear should go in smoothly without grinding.

Enjoy!
